Pietro Scaglione, artistic director of Pinto, might as well be stating a manifesto. With Foundation, the house founded by Alberto Pinto reunites with Nobilis, its partner in the 1980s and 1990s, around an idea of rare precision: to compose not a décor, but what comes before it.

A bundle of plains conceived as a foundation in the cosmetic sense, unfolding in powdery skin tones warmed here and there by a hint of blush. Velvety chenille, striated silk satin, crisp and rustling taffeta, wool satin with the fall of fine tailoring: each fabric plays its part in a hushed register. Two motifs gently unsettle this restraint: a canework pattern drawn freehand and then printed, and the house’s beloved chicken wire, its twisted metal reimagined as a twist of threads in jacquard. A collection discreet by vocation, leaving the final gesture to the craftspeople of the interior.
